Who we are

At Moore Design Builders, we passionately mix simplicity with function to create beautiful sustainable living spaces. Our collaborative approach is based on the understanding that the relationship with a client is just as important as the outcome: a well-built home, tailored to their exact specifications. We are uncompromising in our efforts to provide the best custom options at the highest quality.

In 1988 Moore Design Builders began designing and constructing custom homes in the Mad River Valley. For the past 28 years we have built, renovated, and remodeled numerous homes in New England and recently we have expanded our design work across the country.

Moore Design Builders strives for excellence in three areas: design, energy efficiency and cost management. We deliver fine craftsmanship, with integrity and the highest standards.

Bill Moore / President / Lead Designer

Owner and Architectural Designer Bill Moore was a 1970 graduate from Middlebury College where he received his bachelor's degree in Economics. He then completed course studies at The Boston Architectural Center as well as Master level course studies at the University of PA in Landscape Architecture.

Bill started the company in 1988 after being part of the founding of the Green Mountain Valley School in Waitsfield, Vermont where he was both teacher and head ski coach. Bill continues to live in the Mad River Valley with his family.

"We strive for excellence in three areas: Design, Energy Efficiency and Cost Management", says Bill. "All of our houses exceed the national and state energy standards."

Levon Manuelyan / Designer / Architect

Levon has worked for Moore Design Builders as a Senior Designer since 2009. He was born in Yerevan, Armenia and educated at the State Architectural University of Armenia where he earned an MA in Architecture. He participated in several competitions in Moscow and Kiev where he achieved 1st and 2nd class awards for outstanding architectural concepts and ideas. During his professional career, he has worked on commercial sport complexes and residential custom homes.

Levon is passionate about architecture, providing hand sketches, quick solutions, and innovative construction drawings. Levon is a member of the Union of Architects of Armenia and an Associate Member of the American Institute of Architects. He is married and has two daughters.

Tom Buczkowski / Project Manager

Tom has lived in Waitsfield for the past 35 years. He started working construction as a young man in the summer of 1968 and over time has become a Master Carpenter.

Tom is Vice President and Project Manager, providing oversight and quality control for all projects, ensuring the highest quality.

Tom and his wife continue to live in Waitsfield, raising Jack Russell Terriers.
